March 2012 Birch Box

I am always eagerly awaiting my monthly birchbox. It's like a little present for me every month.
Let me tell you what birch box is, just in case you are not familiar with it.
It's a monthly subscription service which is $10.00 a month where you get sent 5-6 high-end samples each month. First you take a little survey so they can find out more about your skin, make up likes and dislikes so they know what to send you.

You know how I love trying out new products? Well, with the birch box, I can try high end products without having to buy full size products. If you like the product you can go and buy the full size product at birch box.

If you are interested in checking it out, go to Birch Box

Anyways, here is my March Box:

I love how everything is wrapped up.

A little present for me to open!

First thing I got are three different green tea bags from Skin Smart
I am so excited to try this, I am a big tea drinker and green tea is so good for you
The full box sells at Birch Box for $6.00

Next I got this Neon Turquoise nail polish by Color Club, This is a mini .25 oz
The full size product is .5 oz and sells for $8.00 on birchbox

This is not a color I would wear ( I usually wear pinks and neutrals)
but maybe it would be cute on my toe nails this summer

Next I got a Blemish Clearing Cleanser from Juice Beauty
the sample is .5 oz, the full size product retails for $22.00

I am very excited to try this product. The cleanser contains organic lemon, cherry, and aloe to cleanse and remove impurities and helps prevent blemishes. All organic ingredients.

Next, there is a small sample of this perfume Yogini
the full size bottle retails for $55

I like the scent and I would wear it. Even the hubby liked it.

I am not good at describing scents, so here is the description from the website:
sandalwood, refreshing grapefruit, and sensual Egyptian myrrh. Subtle cues of golden amber, incense, and star jasmine turn each spritz into a mini aromatherapy break.

Next is this powder dry shampoo from LuLu Organics
The full size product is 4 oz and retails for $30.00
I am excited to try this too!

I have very oily hair and have been using a dry shampoo I have picked up at walmart and it really hasn't been doing anything for me. This would be nice to compare, since I only used one other dry shampoo before.

Last, but not least there was a sample of stila eye shadow.
I have never used Stila eye shadow, so I am excited to try it out!

That's my march birch box!

Do I think it is worth it?
I could go get myself a Starbucks coffee and muffin or order a birch box for the same price and try out new products. I choose the second.

Anyways, I will try these products out and hopefully will review them in my next products review.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you guys have a great day!

Thrifted Dress Refashion

I went thrifting on Sunday, I found this dress for $6.99
It's originally from Forever 21, size large

(excuse the face with no makeup)

I loved the tulle skirt part, not the top
I feel that it made me look frumpy.
So I decided to turn this dress into a skirt.

All I did, was use my seam ripper and take apart the tulle skirt part from the shirt
I then attached a elastic.

It was really easy and fast, now I have a pretty tulle skirt for $6.99!

Thanks so much for visiting :)

This week in pictures...

We had quite an eventful week (well, as eventful a stay at home mom's week can be) :)
We had a few sunny days this week and took advantage of them.

Sunday:

Hubby worked, so the kids and I went to the park

Monday:

Two of my siblings' birthdays are next week,
so I went to the mall with the kids to find them birthday presents.
After shopping we played a little at the play area:

We were at the mall for a few hours and were hungry, so we stopped by to eat at the Noodle & Co:

mmmm..... Pasta Fresca:

Tuesday:

Went to one of my favorite stores (Cotton Babies) to find a baby shower gift for a friend
The diapers are so pretty, too bad I have to much already :(

It was our 7 year anniversary on Tuesday.
Hubby took me out to a romantic dinner

Now that was yummy!!

Wednesday:
We went to the Park again and stopped by the pet store to look at the pets.
Little Em wants a pet. (I do not want any pets) So we just went there to look around.

Little man loved watching the birds:

Thursday:
Went grocery shopping and stocked up the fridge:

Went to my cousins baby shower and had a great time with the girls!

Friday:

Enjoying my beautiful tulips that hubby got me for our anniversary.
So simple, yet so pretty:

That wraps our week up.

Thanks for visiting :)

Our Seven Year Anniversary!!

When my husband and I started dating, we instantly connected. We could talk for hours about everything, we knew right away that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together!
And on March 6th, 7 years ago we got married!

I thank God everyday for the wonderful husband and best friend he has given me. Without him, I would not have any of this!

Hubby got me my favorite flowers:

Hubby took me out for an amazing dinner at the Chart House
(they even printed special menus for us:)

We had some amazing food:

Enjoying one of my favorites (molten lava cake)
I must apologize for the lighting on these cell phone photos (it was dim in the restaurant and I did not want to disturb others with the flash)

(Again, bad lighting)
But here we are, 7 years married!

The best part was coming home to these little guys waiting for us :)

Thanks for visiting :)

Thrifting, two great finds!

I went thrifting on Sunday and found some great things I wanted to share with you.
(the goodwill near me is great, I have found some great things there in the past, and this time did not disappoint either)

A beautiful Nordstrom clutch and a Micheal Kors wallet, both in perfect condition!
Best part was that both were only $4.99 each!!

I have wanted a smaller wallet for a while now (I have a huge check book wallet)
This was a amazing find!

$4.99!!

Now, I don't go out much, so buying a clutch full price seems like a waste of money.
But for only $4.99, I couldn't pass it by.

Thank you to whoever donated these items, you made my day :)

What have you found at the thrift store this week?

This week in pictures...

We had so much fun this week!

Saturday:

We went out to eat on Saturday night:

After a lot of consideration, I finally decided to buy myself a clarisonic! (well, I guess I should say I had the hubby buy me a clarisonic) I have been using it close to a week now and already see a difference in my skin. (I will tell you more about it once a use it for longer)

Do you use a clarisonic? Do you like it/not like it? leave a comment :)

We decided to stop by and grab doughnuts (only 6) We haven't had Krispy Kreme in so long, we let ourselves have 2 each :)

Sunday:

Lunch

Sunday was a lazy day for us. We lounged at home and finally decided to get out of the house around 4 pm. We went to check out a new health food store (well it has been open for a while, we just never went there since there are so many health food stores next to us). Little Em was in love with the little shopping carts.
I let her shop and had her choose healthy things that she wanted.

Want to know what she picked?

Strawberries
bananas
Orange/strawberry/banana juice
yogurt
Annie's mac and cheese

That's it! She didn't want anything else in her cart!
It was so cute how she unloaded her cart all by herself and asked me to pay for her food, because she left her money at home in her piggy bank. What a doll!!!

Picked up some rice noodles and veggies at the health food store and threw together dinner.
I don't know what to call it, but I know it was delicious!

Monday:

It actually stopped raining and the sun came out!
That is rare here in the NW, so we took advantage of it and went to the park

My lunch

Tuesday:

We went to a cafe which caters to kids and moms/dads

It has a guarded area for the kids to play in (for a small fee) and adults to have coffee or grab lunch

We had so much fun. Little Em made lots of new friends.

Wednesday:

We went to Barnes and Noble for story time
It was our first time at Barnes and Noble for story time, Little Em told me she liked it "much more" then the library because here they gave out cookies :)

Thursday:

It snowed!
Yep, on March 1st it snowed.

brr... I am so ready for spring!!

After the snow melted, we went to the grocery store and picked up some things to get us through another week. As you can see I bought more rice noodles!! :

Friday:

This is little man's new thing. As soon as he sees me turn the kitchen faucet on, he runs to the bathroom and grabs the step stool and brings it into the kitchen to "wash" the dishes with me.
And not just the dishes, when I chop things on the counter, he moves the stool next to me. Then I move to the sink again, he moves the stool over again. He is so adorable!!!

That wraps our week up!!

Thank you so much for visiting.
