Felt Flower Shoe Clip

I made myself some felt flower shoe clips,

If you want to make some for yourself, then grab your felt and a glue gun and join the fun!

Here are the supplies you need

2 sheets of felt (different colors)
Glue gun
Scissors
Shoe clips (I get mine from this shop at ETSY)

First start of by cutting your felt in half and then in fourths:

Then cut a large circle out of the quarter of felt. You will need 2 circles of each color:

Then cut your circles into spirals like this:

Dab your glue and start rolling up the felt like so:

Keep adding your glue and rolling:

Until you are finished with your flower
(now go do that to the other 3 flowers)

Next you need 4 leaves in each color:

Glue the 2 flowers together:

Glue the leaves to the back of the flowers:

Your flowers should look like this now:

Then put some glue on the back:

And glue your shoe clip:

Then cut a thin piece of felt that will fit across the back, like this :

And glue it to the back :

That's it!
Now go clip them on your favorite pumps:

You can also clip them to the side:

Or if you don't wear pumps, They look great on wedges:

If you are more of a flip flop person, They look great on them to!

Or you can put them on itty bitty little girl shoes:

Knit Pencil Skirt

I love stripes, I don't know why, I just prefer striped fabric to any other fabric.

I bought some knit fabric to make the little man some pants, and I had plenty left over, So I made myself skirt. It seriously took like 25 minutes. There is only one seam and some elastic. I didn't even finish the hem. (I didn't want to lose the length, plus knit doesn't fray)

Here is how I made it:

I took a pencil skirt which fit me well and turned it inside out. I folded the fabric in half. I wanted only one seam in the back of the skirt. So I placed the skirt with the front lining up with my fold. I traced the skirt and added about 5 inches to the bottom. I wanted this to be a long pencil skirt:

I cut my fabric:

(Later as I sewed the seam together and tried the skirt on, I realized I should have tapered the bottom if I wanted that pencil skirt look. I fixed it)
So your bottom should be almost as wide as the top:

Then I put the right sides together and sewed the one seam:

Next, I measured my waist and cut some elastic:

Sew the edges of the elastic like so:

Open up the elastic and sew down both of the flaps:

Then put the elastic and skirt with the right sides together (line up the elastic seam with the skirt seam) and pin in 4 places:

Sew the elastic to the skirt. Stretch the elastic as you go:

That's it!

I love my new skirt:

The back:

Now little man and I have matching clothes :)

Yipee!!

Happy Fathers Day!

To the daddy of my children:

At times, I get preoccupied
with routine things I do,
And somehow fail
to let you know
how much I think of you.

But, Dear, if you
could read my heart,
then you would surely see
With every day that passes by
you mean still more to me!

Happy Father's Day
with
All My Love

(poem from blue mountain)

The mailman brought me presents

It feels like my birthday or Christmas.

(pardon the photo quality, I was using my cell phone camera)

They are beautiful, I love the quality of the cards. She included a beautiful note. Aww :)

The other giveaway was from Loo-La-Bee Simplicity hosted by (Burlap and blue)

Shaundra has real talent when making these rosette necklaces, I chose this one from her shop. I love the colors. It will match so many outfits this summer. I am super excited. :)

Thank you ladies for making my day today with these beautiful things. :)

Week Wrap Up

It is Saturday. I went to church today and now I am just relaxing. The kids and hubby are napping. I am addicted to blogging, so I am taking the opportunity to catch up on reading some new posts.
Can you believe it? I choose blogging over taking a nap?! Wow, what have you guys done to me. But I can not stop, there are so many wonderful ideas out there, I feel like I have to see them all.

Look at this awesome beachy wreath at bcheniful:

Makes me wish that summer would finally get here (it is pouring here in the NW again)

Look at this adorable pillow at 36th avenue:

It made me smile when I saw it, I am not sure if it because of the beautiful blue or cute bicycle.

Now, I love skirts and dresses, especially long ones. Check this skirt out from 2 little hooligans :

Isn't it beautiful? I need to make myself one.

last but not least I love this totebag at Craftberry Bush:

After spending lots of money on diaper bags, I have still prefer tote bags for diaper bags, especially since cloth diapers are big. I would love this one for the summer. I love stripes.
Lucy made it for $5.00. Plus she has a tutorial. I am keeping my eyes open for a large canvas tote so I can make one myself.

All right, I have to go now, kidos are waking up form their naps.

(don't forget to grab a button if I featured you today)

Lots of Love,

Rita
