30 for 30 Spring Remix Finale

I decided to start this challenge at the last minute, I thought it would do me good, since I always feel that I "need" new clothes. I really did not know what I was getting myself into. I have never done anything like this before and I am really not good at remixing and tend to wear the same things.

I quickly planned my items on the first day of the challenge, I looked at the calendar too see how many "dressy" outfits I needed and how many "casual"outfits.

I am a stay at home mom, but I love to "get dressed up" The only time I am in sweats is when I clean my house on Thursdays, When I am gardening or when I work out. Otherwise I try to always be "presentable".

  • Just so you know a little about me, I only own one pair of sneakers (which are 8 years old) I use them to work out, which I don't do very often since they have lasted me 8 years, lol.

  • My only "t shirts" (I am talking about big baggy ones) are the ones I paint in.

  • I own a few pair of jeans, but don't feel very comfortable in them because I feel that the accentuate my hips which I am very self conscious of, so I wear skirts and dresses often.

  • I love color, and If I could afford it, I would shop at Kate Spade, Mod Cloth and Jcrew all the time.

Here are a few questions I am going to answer:

Did anyone notice your remixing?
A few of my friends read my blog, and they asked me about it and if it is "hard", but otherwise, no.
My husband didn't notice, but I mean come on, men usually don't notice this kind of thing.

Would you have changed any of your 30 picks ?
"Next time" I am going to do this challenge, I am not going to count shoes in the mix. Here in the NW, you may need sandals one day and then rain boots the next. So next time I will only count 30 pieces of clothing.

It got really hot here halfway through the challenge (which I was not expecting) So,  I changed out out two of the items I haven't worn (half way through the challenge)  See the 30 picks post

Did you put a "NO BUY" ban during the challenge?

I actually did not. However, When I was out shopping, I didn't want anything. I felt that if I could not wear it now, I don't want it. I did finally get a few things on the last day of the challenge.

Instead, I bought the kids new spring and summer clothes, shoes, hats and swim suits.

What are your favorites outfits?
I love color, especially green and pink, So I loved when I wore my pink J Crew skirts or my green Anthro dress.

What did you learn from this challenge?

Accessories are very important.
But I always tended to get a "new shirt" rather then get a nice belt or scarf.
Now I learned my lesson.

You can create so many outfits with just a white t shirt and a pair of jeans, just add different scarves,  necklaces and hats and you have yourself a few outfits.

Belts are very important to, you can accentuate your waist, or just add color to outfits.

So enough talking, here are all 30 outfits:

I want to thank you all who left your sweet and encouraging comments through out this challenge. They really made my day and made me go on when I felt like giving up.

30 for 30 Spring Remix Challenge #30

This is it you guys! I have successfully finished the 30 day spring remix challenge!

I won't say it was easy, but after I got it all figured out, if got fun, and I did learn a lot along the way.
I am planning on doing a whole post with all the outfits together later and tell you guys my thoughts and feeling about the challenge.

I have been sick for the past few days: cough, runny nose. Today I just felt yucky. It was raining, and I had to take a trip to Walmart with the kids, then meet up with a "client" about a party I am decorating.
I don't want to say "client" but I guess that is what she is, I am doing a favor and helping her plan and decorate a birthday party for her daughter, and oh yeah, the party is this coming Sunday. I don't know how people can leave things to such short notice, I usually start planning my birthday parties 1-2 months earlier, lol. But that is just me.

Here is what I wore:

(It has been gloomy and dark in the mornings, sorry about the lighting in these pictures)

30 for 30 Spring Remix Challenge #29

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers day weekend!
I am just getting around to posting yesterdays outfit.

This is what I wore:

30 for 30 Spring Remix Challenge #28

Today was a beautiful day! We went to morning service, then to a friends house for lunch. Followed by naps for everyone, playing out side and takeout pizza for dinner.

This is what I wore to morning Shabbat service:

I spent Friday cooking for Shabbat.

Followed by a trip to Target, had a few returns and off course I had to pick a few more things up for the kids.  I cant help it, a lot of the spring clothes are on clearance.

I wore my favorite dress, which was another Anthropologie clearance find.

30 for 30 Spring Remix Challenge #26

I am just getting around today to posting Thursdays outfit. I have had a very busy past few days.

Thursday, was a very busy day. I cleaned the house, went grocery shopping and then we all went bike riding. We met up with some friends and got some frozen yogurt. I am still sore from the 7 mile bike ride we took.

So technically, I was in this outfit for only 2-3 hours.
I wore sweats to clean and work out gear to bike.

This is what I wore (for the grocery shopping part):

30 for 30 Spring Remix Challenge #25

Today was one of those days where nothing went as planned, but it still turned out to be a wonderful day!

We planned to have picnic at a park, with my friends and their kids. However, when we woke up the skies were gray and gloomy. It was cold (65 F)

We didn't know if we should wait until it was suppose to clear up (3pm) or just cancel the whole thing.
Then my friend suggested that we all come over to her house, and we did.

We ended up making Pelmeni while the kids played and then we all ate lunch together. We had such a great time.

Since it was gloomy, I put on jeans this morning, but I just didn't feel right. I have been wearing skirts and dresses since it has been beautiful outside these past few weeks, I feel that my jeans are too tight, uncomfortable and just unflattering on me. I either need to get new jeans or loose some weight.

So I decided to go with my no fail, comfy red/orange skirt:

Skirt: Modcloth
Scarf: H&M
Jean jacket: Nordstrom (BP juniors)
Shoes: Me Too Nordstrom
Watch: MK

I am so tired today,  kids have been getting up early these past few days, no more sleeping in, when the sun comes out.

We went to the library for story time, Picked up a few things from Target & Michael's and went to "look" at patio furniture at World Market. Then, home for lunch, naps and lessons.

This is what I wore today:

Today I attended a repeat passover service, since I was not able to attend the original one a month ago.
I had a very quiet and spiritual day. I spent this day fasting, in prayer and just reflecting over the love of our God.

This is todays outfit:

It was so nice and warm today. I got "dressed" after I finished all the cooking for Shabbat.
Looking forward to the weekend, it is promising to be a good one :)
