Living for Him....

I recently had an opportunity to meet an amazing and selfless woman. Every month she opens her house to young married women, and ministers to them, just as Titus 2:3-5 teaches us.

She has been ministering for 12 years now. She talks about how we should love our husbands and children, how to be graceful, and thankful in everything, how to dwell on the good and get rid of all bitterness in our lives.

It was such an amazing evening that the time flew by way to fast. I could listen to her speak for hours.

As stay at home moms, we may sometimes feel that our work is not important. But the bible says that it is God's will for us to minister to our children and husband before anyone else.
We are to raise our children with all our hearts, and raise them for God's glory.

Last week I had a thought on my mind all week long. Why did God put all of these people on earth? Are we here to live for ourselves? To be selfish and do what ever we please? Is that really why God made us? NO, He is the king. He put us on this earth to glorify Him. To live for Him. Everything is for Him. We raise our children for Him, we honor our husband for Him.
We are on this earth for such a short while, why not live for Him while we have the opportunity.

Its the most wonderful time of the year...

This is truly the most wonderful time of the year. I love everything from the Christmas music to decorating the house.

My kids were so excited to decorate the tree this year, they kept asking me for days if it was time yet. This year I gave them free rein with the decorating.   All I did was string the lights on and put the hooks on the the ornaments for them. Emily (my 8 year old) and Nico (5 year old)  brought a step stool and did a great job arranging all the ornaments on the tree.  William (my two year old) was  excited to help out to, watching him carefully take the ornaments from my hands and and run to the tree and find the perfect branch for it melted my heart. My little baby is growing up to fast. Off course, he ended up hanging 5 ornaments on one branch, but I didn't even mind.

The kidos are growing up so fast, all I can do is love them, treasure them and bless them every day.
I may not be able to give them all the "things" I would like to, but I can give them precious memories.

Last night we decided to take a spontaneous trip to the grotto.
Bundled up and with warm drinks in hand, we walked though the paths and took in all the lights, we watched two different choirs perform, and outdoor puppet show and some animals at the petting zoo, including a real live camel!

It was a beautiful night and a perfect way to kick off this holiday season.

Holiday Gift Ideas for the whole family with Uncommon Goods

This post was in collaboration with Uncommon Goods. All opinions are my own.

December is fast approaching and it is an extra busy month for us. Think holiday preparations plus two kids birthdays. In order to actually get everything done on my check list, I have to start in November. I started planning my kids party a few weeks ago, and bought them birthday gifts which are now wrapped up and waiting for their big day!

Now, I am shopping for christmas gifts for my family.
I don't know about you, but I buy almost all of my gifts online. This way I can shop from the comfort of my couch, and find the best price on the things on my kids wishlist, and the most unique and special things for my husband and friends.

When companies contact me to collaborate, I always check them out and ask myself if this is something I would buy, eat, or wear? If not, then I decline.

When I went to check Uncommon Goods christmas gift ideas, I was amazed at all of their high quality and unique items. They have alot of handcrafted pieces, which are my favorite, I am a huge on sentimental gifts, I love to give and receive gifts that are special, unique and something I would treasure for a long time.

Uncommon Goods is run out of Brooklyn NY, out of a historic army terminal. Not only are half of their items handmade here in the US, but one third of their entire collection features recycled/up cycled materials!
Oh, and their lowest paid seasonal worker starts at 50% above the minimal wage. I don't know about you, but this sounds like an amazing company to support.

I created a wish list with my favorites for men, kids and ladies. Now, hopefully my hubby won't peak, because he will be getting a few of these things :)

Weekend Getaway to the Coast

This past weekend hubby surprised us with a little weekend getaway to the coast. It is not the most ideal time to go to the Oregon Coast, it being November and all, but it has been raining non stop for the past month, so we were really itching to get out of the house for a little while.

The house we stayed in, was right on the beach and had a big fireplace and huge windows to watch the crashing waves. Cozying up on the couch with the family is just what we needed.
This was probably one of our most relaxing weekend getaways we have ever went on. I had to time to read, do my bible study lesson and go explore the beach with the family.

-I am a little shocked at how big William has gotten, he is growing like a weed, soon he will catch up to his brother-

-Out combing the beach for treasures-

-Found some huge pieces of drift wood that the storm brought in-

-The beach house we stayed in was so dreamy-

-They are always up for an adventure-

-These two were up bright and early, so we played board games until daddy and little brother woke up for breakfast-

-The view is amazing-

-It cleared up on Sunday-

-The house has 2 huge decks that wrap around the house, the kids loved running around them-
