Month in Review...

I can not believe how fast February has flew by. Sure, it is the shortest month of the year, but I still can not believe that tomorrow is the first day of March. 

 In the month of February all of the kids, me and hubby were sick. Maybe this month seemed to fly by because I was in survival mode and going on a few hours of sleep. 

Never the less, we made some wonderful memories and had a few adventures in the month of February. (Here are a few pictures on my iPhone from this month, I will appreciate them when this time comes along next year and they pop up on the time hop app. 

Do you use the time hop app? I love looking at the photos going back three years. I love seeing how much the kids have grown and what we were up to back then. 

I know I have not been very good at keeping up with blogging, I just can not seem to make time for it. Between taking care of the kids, the house and homeschooling, I don't seem to have very much free time. However, I still take a lot of pictures of the kids and just everyday life which I figured I could share on my monthly post of //Month in Review//

//Emily talked her brother into going down the big slide with her, before that he was scared and has never gone on his own. After one try going down while holding his sister's hand, there was no stopping him, he kept going back to the big slide. Big sisters are the best :) //

//My dad flew in for a visit-- we only see him a few times a year and the kids always get so excited to see their grandpa//

//We took advantage of the days where didn't rain and went on lots of walks//

Valentines Day 2015

I hope you all had a great Valentines day! We loved celebrating our love to one another this Valentines Day. Off course we don't need a special day to tell each other we love them, but it is a nice little reminder that we should take the time to do something special for one another.

Valentines day was my favorite holiday back when I was in elementary school. I loved how in each grade, we got to make our personal mailboxes for valentines, I remember picking out my valentines at the drugstore and handing them out in class. I loved the parties our classes had, I remember coming home with our little goody bags and looking through everything over and over, I remember trading candy and gifts with my sister. Simple things like that make wonderful memories. 

Even though my kids are homeschooled, I do not want them to miss out on the fun and still want them to make lots of memories. We made little goody bags for each of us and worked on some cards for each other.

I love how the kids made little cards for each other and how they picked out some small gifts for each other. Off course, we can't have a party without making our iced sugar cookies. (I used my recipe here.)  Emily helped me roll and cut the cookies and I iced them. They are not perfect, the icing was a little runny, but the kidos don't care, They just love eating them with a tall glass of milk.

Current Skincare Routine

As some of you may know, I am really into skincare. Ever since I got my first job 10 years ago, I started buying skincare products, so I have tried my share of products to this day, I have a lot of favorites and there is still so much I want to try. 

This is what I am  currently using:

To remove make up, I use Burt's Bees wipes ( not pictured )

I have tried a ton of different makeup removers and wipes and this is so far my favorite and it is available in almost every store. 

La Roche- Posay Effaclar Cleanser

I have been using the same cleanser for over a year now. I love it so much, I have lost count on how many tubes I have gone through. Cleans wonderfully and I can use it with my clarisonic without the foam getting in my eyes and nose. 

Day time serum: Clinique Turnaround Radiance Renewer

This is a new one for me, I bought it because of all the reviews, so even though I am not a lover of Clinique, I decided to try it out. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and like it a lot. I have noticed that my skin seems clearer and my dark spots are disappearing. 

Night time serum: Ahava Extreme Night Treatment

I have used last year, then I ran out and since it is so spendy, I didn't rush back to get it. Then I noticed fine lines emerging on my forehead. So I bought this again and it is like my skin drinks it up. I put it on at night before bed, the fine lines are slowly softening up. This is my HG item. I now know that I need it. If you sign up for emails from AHAVA, they occasionally send coupon codes, so I was able to snag this for 40% off. 

Moisturizer: Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

This cream smoothes and softens skin without feeling heavy, I put it on top of my serum day and night. A little goes a long way. 

Eye Cream: Origins Anti-Aging Eye Treatment

This is a new one for me, I have used it for about 2 weeks. I have been using eye cream twice a day for the past 10 years, so I have tried many different eye creams, this one keeps my under eye area moisturized, and it does not sting my eyes and feels lightweight.

Spot treatment: La Roche-Posay Effaclar DUO Acne Treatment

I have used many spot treatments and this one is one of the best. It does the job without drying out my face. 

Lips: Dr. Lipp Original Balm

I always put something on my lips, otherwise they get dry. This is a bit pricy, but lasts a long time. I use it sparingly day and night and it keeps my lips moist and soft.
