Back Yard Before and After

We have been working on our backyard and it is finally coming together.

It has been one of those project that has been put on the back burner because it was so big. But now that most of the inside projects are done, so we have started working on the outside.

I used to hate being in the back yard during the summer, because it was so HOT out there. The sun hit the patio directly, and even with a gazebo, it was too hot.

We hired a friend to build us a patio roof last year, but it wasn't finished until fall time, after that we stopped working on the yard.
Now that it is spring/summer, we have started cleaning the yard and planting some plants.
We still want to paint the house and replace the roof, but those big projects will have to wait until next year.

But even so, we love it now. We have a space for everything: grass for playing, playground, sandbox, garden boxes, and patio for dining.

Welcome to my back yard...

Here is the before:

and After:

Thanks for visiting,

  1. what a great spot. i love the wood structure and that you centered it right outside the doors. we just put in a little brick patio, and i have one of those home depot tent gazebo things over it. my recent post shows when it was first done, but now that my rug is there, and the netting is closed, it's the perfect spot. enjoy yours!

  2. WOW! Your outdoor space is beautiful. Y'all have put in a lot of hard work.

  3. That looks so nice! It's amazing how adding the patio roof made the entire house look upgraded! It looks so great! We just bought our house and have a lot of work to do on the back yard. But we live in a hill so it will require a lot of dirt work so I think we'll be putting it off for a while to save money :) You yard looks gorgeous!

  4. Wow! You guys really did a great job in transforming your backyard. I'm loving the outdoor dining and patio and how wide and open the whole space looks. The plants all look nice too. I'm sure everything will look even more spectacular once the flowering plants and shrubs have grown bigger. Thank you for sharing the before and after pictures! All the best to you! :)
