My Hair Disaster...

OK, I have had the worst hair experience, and I can't blame anyone but myself.

It happened about a month ago and I am finally ready to talk about it.

Here is the thing, I have dark brown hair. I also have a lot of gray hairs, so I need to color pretty often (every 4-6 weeks) to keep the grays away.
The salon I was going to was charging me $80 for one color +tip. I hated paying so much every 6 weeks. So I started coloring my hair at home this year.

I was using John Frieda Precision Foam Colour in Dark Cool Espresso Brown and everything was going fine. It is super easy and clean to use (remember, I have a white bathroom, I don't want any hair dye splotches anywhere.)
But the last time I used it, I left it on too long and it got really dark.

I am sure it would have been fine, it would have faded with a few washes, but the do it your self girl I am, I decided to strip it myself and color it lighter. Yeah, Bad idea.

Here is what started with. Now that I look back at it, It looks perfectly fine. I don't know why I though it was too dark:

To strip my hair, I decided to use Loreal Color Remover
Bad Bad idea!!
This stuff is horrible, smells bad and very difficult to apply by yourself.
Never the less, I followed all the instructions on the box and hoped in the shower.

What We Wore

Hello, my beautiful friends. This past week has been a very busy, difficult and emotional week for me. My grandmother passed away and my family was at my house for the funeral.
She was in the late stage of Alzheimer's and got a clot which caused a heart attack.

I will always remember her how she was before she got sick. A strong woman and fast little woman! She raised 7 kids on her own!

Here are a few of this weeks outfits:

Blouse: Anthropologie, Skirt: JCrew, Shoes: DSW

Cardigan/Jeans (KUT)/Blouse: Nordstrom Rack, Shoes: Payless, Hat: F21

Jeans: Nordstrom Rack, Blazer: Micheal Kors (nordstrom), Shirt: Nordstrom, Shoes: TOMS, Hat: F21

Homeschooling

School is out for almost all the kids now. I am not sure if I want to stop. LOL.
I think we will continue a few lessons a week during summer, I am afraid If we completely stop for the summer, my child will forget everything she learned, anyone else feel that way?

I can not wait till the new school year, I will have a new curriculum for my daughter and my son will be closer to 3, and will start doing preschool worksheets.
Right now he is playing with puzzles, building train tracks or coloring.

If Little Em was in Public School, she would start Kindergarten this year (birthday in December) But since she is already reading (simple words), adding, subtracting and more I have decided to test the waters with 1st grade. I am perfectly willing to stop if it becomes to difficult for her and go back to Kindergarten work.

I think I will oder a curriculum soon(As soon as I decide on one I want) and go through it and see what  else she needs to catch up on and work on it during the summer.

By September, I hope to transform our office to be a homeschool room. I want to get a giant map, globes, books, charts, posters, giant calendar... We will also shop for school supplies in August and stock the classroom with pencils, markers, glue, paint and so on.

I get this happy feeling when I am schooling my kids, because I get so excited when I see them learn something new. I love it. I actually sit down and give them my undivided attention. Lessons only take around 2 hours a day.
We do School right after breakfast. We are done right before lunch and Little man's nap time.

After lunch we do chores, I prep for dinner, go to any stores we need and I get to catch up on some blogging. It works out lovely.

Here is what today looked like:

June 2013 Birchbox + link up your box!

I was pleasantly surprised with my June Birch box, I actually loved everything!

Let me tell you what birch box is, just in case you are not familiar with it. It's a monthly subscription service which is $10.00 a month where you get sent 5-6 high-end samples each month. First you take a little survey so they can find out more about your skin, make up likes and dislikes so they know what to send you.

You know how I love trying out new products? Well, with the birch box, I can try high end products without having to buy full size products. If I love the product, then I can go buy it :)

If you are interested in checking it out, go to Birch Box

Now lets take a look inside:

Fathers Day 2013 in Pictures

Hello my lovely friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Fathers Day weekend.
We didn't really plan anything for Fathers Day, it just kinda evolved on its own. It was a beautiful day, so we wanted to go do something outdoors. We called up some friends and ended up spending a day at the park and then out to dinner.

The kids got so much fresh air and got so tired that they fell fast asleep after their bath time.
Same goes to me, I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Here is our Fathers Day in Pictures:

Thank you so much for visiting, Hope you all have a great week.
