I have been craving strawberry sauce for a while now and I finally made some with some strawberries which were overripe. This sauce is wonderful on waffles, pancakes or crepes.
2 lbs of strawberries, washed and sliced
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 of a lemon juiced
1 pinch salt
Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan over medium/low heat; stir until sugar dissolves and berries are soft. (about 10 minutes)
Remove from heat and cool.
