I wasn't sure if I should even share this tiny little project.. But maybe one of you can use this for inspiration, so here it goes.
I bought this wool blend coat at the BP department at Nordstrom a few years back. Then a button fell off and I stopped wearing it. (plus I didn't really like the big plastic buttons)
I finally got around to going to Joann's and picking up a few buttons.
Ta Da!
Looks like a new coat!

I have this exact same coat except in gray! One of my buttons broke in half when closing the car door and I still haven't fixed it. I love the idea of adding some classy new buttons.
ReplyDeleteYes! Changing the buttons gives it a whole new look. Plus it is so easy, anyone can do it.
DeleteLove the upcycled version!
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought of doing something like this. DIY is not in my blood.
ReplyDeleteLove the new version.

I did something similar for a coat I bought my daughter at a yard sale last summer. The coat was red with red buttons. It definitely belonged to a little boy in its previous life so I wanted to "girl it up" a little bit. I REALLY wanted ladybug buttons but couldn't find the right size so I ended up with some little flower buttons. Cuted it right up! :-)
