Making Calzones

I have a new favorite Food Blog, it's the Proud Italian Cook. I get so much inspiration from the posts, and when I saw this post on Calzones, I just had to make some!

I cheated on the dough, I always have Rhodes frozen rolls in my freezer, thats what I used:

I just left some on a plate to thaw:

While the dough thawed, I roasted some veggies and turkey sausage for the filling:

I also got some ricotta and basil ready
I washed some spinach
and shredded some mozzarella cheese:

Once the dough was thawed, I used two rolls to make each calzone:

I layered my filling and pinched the sides together:

Brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with pepper/salt and parmesan cheese:

Baked them at 400 degrees for 30 minutes
Next time I am going to do 350 degrees:

Then I enjoyed some with marinara sauce:

I had leftover filling, so I cooked some pasta and tossed with with the veggies, sausage, spinach, olive oil, salt and pepper.
And off course, I can not live without cheese, so I grated some romano cheese over the pasta:

Thanks for visiting :)

Now go make yourself some calzones!
