What do you think about my new shoes? I love them! I think that gold glitter shoes are actually very versatile, they match alot of things.
My hubby saw them and said "what are you, nine?" LOL, I don't care what he thinks, I love them anyway. :)
Here is the before pic, These shoes have seen much better days, I got the tips replaced on the heels, But felt that they looked to worn out. I did not want to get rid of them, since they are so comfortable and I paid a bit of money on them:
Here are the supplies I needed:
I used some masking tape and taped off the sole of the shoes:
I took some modge podge and poured it in a plastic cup:
I put plenty of glitter into the modge podge (about 1/4 of the jar):
Mix it up:
Spread a thick layer of modge podge onto the shoe:
They will look like this, let dry for about an hour:
I covered the glue while the first coat dried:
Here is how the first coat looks like once mostly dry:
I let dry completely and peeled off the tape:
Then I washed my brush and used plain modge podge to seal the shoe:
Done:

Oh my heck! These are amazing! Thanks for entering my giveaway! Go ahead and use the idea. I probably got it from someone else somewhere anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love these! Does the modge podge crack when the shoe bends?

modge podge doesn't dry hard (from the few projects I used it on) the shoes are still are very soft and flexible. I made a belt using modge podge and it is still very stretchy, but still holds the beads in place, you can see that here: http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/2011/05/beaded-elastic-belt.html
